Although there aren’t many specifics available, guitarist Teloch has confirmed that writing and pre-production have started for the official follow-up to the 2019 album “Daemon” by Norwegian black metal legends Mayhem. Teloch, who has been instrumental in the band’s development over the last ten years, recently provided a succinct but insightful update on social media. In 2021, Mayhem issued their “Atavistic Black Disorder” / “Kommando” EP, which included punk covers of bands like the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, and Discharge as well as unreleased “Daemon” session recordings. In 2023, Mayhem also released “Daemonic Rites,” a live album that included songs from “Daemon” and classics and collected performances from their 2019–2022 tours.
