The wife of Denis “Snake” Bélanger from Voivod has received an alarming health diagnosis – crowdfunding has started

The legendary Canadian metal band Voivod has made a heartfelt appeal to their fans all around the world to help Christine McDonald, vocalist Denis “Snake” Bélanger’s spouse, after she was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, as per MetalInjection. Since receiving a diagnosis in October, McDonald’s cancer has spread to her ovary, liver, and abdominal wall. Even while treatment has shown promising results, the path ahead is still difficult. In addition to the health issue, there has been a significant financial impact. Bélanger has trimmed back his own professional obligations to concentrate on her care, while McDonald’s capacity to work has been severely curtailed. The goal of the fundraising is to alleviate the financial burden so that McDonald can focus entirely on his recuperation by paying for medical supplies, travel, treatment fees, and daily living expenditures. Supporters can directly support McDonald’s efforts in addition to the fundraising. She is a skilled visual artist who keeps creating while undergoing treatment; admirers may also support her by buying her original artwork on her official website. Take a look at that here.

Dear friends & fans

We’re reaching out today for someone that is part to the Voivod family.

Christine McDonald, the partner of Denis “Snake” Bélanger, was diagnosed in October with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. The cancer has spread, and while treatment is ongoing and showing some positive results, it is intensive and demanding.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover medical supplies, travel, treatment costs, and living expenses during this time, as the situation has significantly impacted Christine’s ability to work.

It has also affected Denis’ ability to maintain his regular work commitments, as much of his time is now devoted to supporting Christine through treatment and recovery. Together, this has created serious financial strain due to treatment-related expenses and lost income.

If you are able to support, share, or contribute in any way, it would mean a great deal.

Thank you for standing with Christine and Snake.
