The White House has allegedly used a Linkin Park song for their content without authorization

A video shared on New Year’s Eve by the official White House social media account appears to have been subject to a takedown request initiated by Linkin Park, as per theprp. The brief clip, which highlighted the achievements of then-U.S. President Donald Trump, reportedly featured the band’s 2003 single “Somewhere I Belong” as its soundtrack.

The band’s representatives are believed to have taken measures to have the video removed due to the alleged unauthorized use of their intellectual property. Notably, Linkin Park has previously encountered similar issues, including a prominent incident in 2020 when they issued a cease and desist order against the Trump administration for using their 2000 single “In The End” without permission in a campaign advertisement.

Linkin Park did not and does not endorse Trump, nor authorize his organization to use any of our music. A cease and desist has been issued.

While the band has not publicly commented on the recent takedown, reports indicate that a party associated with Linkin Park stated they were actively “taking action” against the video prior to its removal.

Chester Bennington in 2017 stated on social media:

I repeat….. Trump is a greater threat to the USA than terrorism!! We have to take back our voices and stand for what we believe in
