The Virgos sign to Season of Mist and push “Lord Have Mercy” into a new spotlight

Pennsylvania heavy metal trio The Virgos have joined the Season of Mist roster, which marks a strong step forward for the Wilkes Barre group and their mix of classic heaviness and psychedelic grit. Vocalist and guitarist Andy Saba formed the band with Danni Crockett and Eli Gerrity after years spent in acts like Bad Seed, Harm’s Way and Nails. They bonded over a shared taste for Sabbath level weight, Manowar scale theatrics and the swing of stoner rock. That blend drives their third album “Lord Have Mercy”, released earlier this year.

Saba notes that the band wanted heavy metal to feel wild again, and the album shows that intent through its mix of melodic hardcore, goth rock and stoner metal. The record also leans into a theme shaped by his belief that the world feels like it is moving backward. He saw superstition, conflict and decay rise around him, so he wrote with that energy in mind. He adds that Lucio Fulci’s film Conquest influenced the album’s mood and helped push its medieval edge.

Season of Mist has now placed the band’s full catalog on streaming platforms. Fans can also watch the video for “Yes”, a loud and swagger filled single from the album, on the label’s YouTube channel.

The band will stay busy on the road as they tour across the Northeast with Superheaven and White Reaper. The run starts this week and continues into early 2026, with more dates on the way.
