The Sound of Animals Fighting to release new album in September – listen to first single “Lady of the Cosmos”

American rock supergroup The Sound of Animals Fighting have just unveiled “Lady of the Cosmos,” the lead single from their upcoming album “The Maiden.” The track runs just over six minutes and marks the group’s first new material since their 2022 EP “Apeshit.”

The single arrives ahead of “The Maiden,” which is set to drop on September 12th, 2025 via Born Losers Records. The album will feature ten tracks in total, with “Lady of the Cosmos” appearing as track four. Pre-orders for vinyl editions of the record are now open, with shipments expected to begin around the release date.

Musically, the new single sticks to the band’s signature blend of experimental, post-hardcore, math rock, and progressive elements. Though the band hasn’t shared much in the way of official commentary, early reactions from fans online suggest the track is a strong and promising lead that raises expectations for what’s to come.

Originally formed in the early 2000s, The Sound of Animals Fighting developed a cult following with a trilogy of albums released between 2004 and 2008. After years of sporadic activity, they returned in 2022 with “Apeshit.” Now, with “The Maiden” on the way and a U.S. tour lined up, the band looks poised for a full-scale comeback.
