Yesterday we posted about almost the whole band deleting all the posts and doing a social blackout, and today the band has shared a reel with “2026” written on it. And that shouldn’t be surprising at all, but one thing has struck us.
The reel shared tagged the whole band: Michael Amott, Joey Concepcion and Daniel Erlandsson, since Sharlee D’Angelo doesn’t have an Instagram account. And the odd one out (if we can call it that), is that Angela Gossow is also tagged in the reel.
Furthermore, on the band’s website (open it by clicking here) there’s a video which states “Reconnecting [please wait]“. In my opinion, that’s enough hints! But what do you think?
Following the departure of lead singer Johan Liiva, Gossow joined Arch Enemy in November 2000. For a German webzine, she had already conducted an interview with guitarist Michael Amott. Gossow showed Amott a demo, which she described as a “poor quality” film of a club performance, during the interview. In 2000, the band invited Gossow to try out after sacking Liiva. Then, according to Amott, “she wiped the floor with all the other contenders.” She then worked with Arch Enemy to record “Wages of Sin”.
Gossow nearly stopped growling when she was diagnosed with nodules on the eve of a 2002 tour. After receiving vocal therapy, she was able to regain her voice and started taking lessons in screaming and the piano, with the coach Melissa Cross.
