Ozzy Osbourne‘s son Jack provided an update on the progress of the eagerly anticipated Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne movie in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner, as per Blabbermouth.
We are full steam ahead. We’ve been in development at Sony for a number of years now. The script is done. We’re just making some final tweaks and hopefully [we’ll] get a director attached pretty soon.
When asked who he had in mind to play Ozzy in the film, Jack responded as follows.
“We do have someone that there’s been some communication with. I can’t really say who. Studios, they like to do the big reveals. But, yeah, we have someone in mind, a really brilliant actor. And yeah, we’re very excited if it works out the way we hope. If Hollywood approves and the powers that be give us the green light, then we’re ready to go. So it’s very exciting.
Osbourne was born in London to Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Levy, his manager and wife. He spent his first six years of life in Buckinghamshire’s Chiltern Hills. After that, the family relocated to Los Angeles, but they returned to Buckinghamshire a year later. The family returned to Southern California, this time to Beverly Hills, when Osbourne was eleven years old. Osbourne didn’t find the frequent moves to be troublesome. Osbourne’s school life was one area of his life that was negatively impacted by his many moves. He soon detested attending school, which was made worse by the fact that he was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of ten and a type of dyslexia at the age of eight.
He was attending a Christian school in Los Angeles at the time. Before moving back to Los Angeles and enrolling in the special needs Park Century School, he spent a year in England. At the age of 14, he received an internship opportunity at Virgin Records, where his mother was in charge of The Smashing Pumpkins. Osbourne began A&R scouting for Epic Records, where his father had worked for many years, when Sharon ceased managing that band. Osbourne also assisted his mother in running Ozzfest, his father’s yearly touring event, by giving her advice on emerging acts.
