With a 21-song performance in Minneapolis on Thursday night, AC/DC kicked off their much anticipated North American tour. As he leads his band through their greatest hits and two tracks from their most recent “Power Up” album, guitarist Angus Young, who turned 70 last month, continues to be an extraordinary force, prowling and duck-walking all over the enormous stage. This is the group’s first North American tour since 2015–2016. The problematic Rock or Bust tour started without Malcolm Young, the band’s original rhythm guitarist, who passed away in 2017 following a fight with dementia and other health problems. Due to his well-documented legal issues, drummer Phil Rudd was unable to join the tour, while singer Brian Johnson had to leave the tour early because of hearing issues.
