“”The New Flesh” is the closest you can get to our early albums” – interview with Josh Middleton of Sylosis

Author Arto Mäenpää - 27.1.2026

British metal powerhouse Sylosis rolled into Helsinki’s legendary Tavastia Club in January not only to deliver crushing riffs on stage, but also to talk about the next chapter of the band’s evolution. Chaoszine caught up with vocalist and guitarist Josh Middleton on January 21st for an in-depth video interview about the band’s upcoming seventh studio album, “The New Flesh“, set for release on February 20th via Nuclear Blast.

Following the critical acclaim of 2023’s “A Sign Of Things To Come”, Sylosis have doubled down on everything that defines their sound. “The New Flesh” is heavier, sharper and more ruthless, packed with explosive, riff-driven anthems that hit hard without sacrificing melody or depth. From the punishing opener “Beneath The Surface” to the epic closer “Seeds In The River”, the album showcases a band operating at full force.

In the interview, Middleton discusses the writing process behind the new record, the band’s renewed hunger, and why Sylosis in 2025 sounds more dangerous and focused than ever before. Watch the full video interview below:
