The masters of groove metal are back with a flawless record – review of “Into Oblivion” by Lamb of God

Author Benedetta Baldin - 3.3.2026

Four years after “Omen”, Lamb of God is back with another album titled “Into Oblivion”, to be relesed on March 13th, 2026. And while the wait has been long, trust me that is going to be all worth it. I didn’t put in the title that they are masters of groove metal just because of a whim, but because they truly know their craft, and they’ve improved on it.

“Into Oblivion” is the most heterogeneous product that the band has delivered; it’s sophisticated, layered, ferocious and yet incredibly accessible to even the novice listener. The mixing, mastering and production are top-notch, and I really love how we can fully appreciate each instrument during the listening of the whole 39 minutes.

The choices of singles so far has been spot on, but some tracks in the album really show how spectacularly versatile this band is. If the album consisted of “El Vacio“, “A Thousand Years” and “Devise/Destroy” only, it would still be worth every single cent. Somehow, writing about a perfect album feels more difficoult than other instances!

That’s because when a band hits every single item in my checklist, I really have no more words to say, if not to recommend this listen to every metalhead. “Into Oblivion” is definitely one of Lamb of God‘s magnum opus, a beacon in this world that only knows despair.

So if I were you, I would not book anything for March 13th, but only a great and thorough listening session for “Into Oblivion”. Because Lamb of God went above and beyond for this, and it’s only fair that we appreciate their art properly. The masters are back at the top, right where they belong.
