The Inspector Cluzo – the two organic farmers from Gascony today announce the release of their tenth album “Less Is More” for June 6, 2025. The band also announced that they will be supporting Clutch on their upcoming US tour. TIC will now be on tour throughout 2025.

The tenth album “Less Is More” was recorded again in 2024 by Vance Powell (The White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Seasick Steve) in Nashville. The album was recorded live in four days and mixed in three days. Powell succeeded in capturing the band’s irrepressible live energy. In a nod to their work as organic farmers, the band want to show that all TIC performances are played live and without playback by using the seal below – a mark of quality they hope will be adopted by musicians and bands worldwide. The Inspector Cluzo really is an organic live beast…

The concept of the album and all the lyrics are inspired by Henry David Thoreau and Guy Debord.

Henry David Thoreau was an American naturalist, essayist, poet and philosopher of the 19th century. He was a leading transcendentalist, known for his book “Walden” (he was one of the first ecologists and post-growth theorists ever; the book describes his own experiences living alone in a forest cabin for two years) and author of “Civil Disobedience” (a plea for civil disobedience against an unjust state – a book that guided and influenced both Martin Luther King and Gandhi).

Guy Debord was a famous French philosopher of the 20th century, best known for his 1967 essay “The Society of the Spectacle.” Debord was deeply dismayed by the hegemony of governments and media over everyday life through mass production, consumption and marketing, which had a prophetic effect on the world we live in today. “In a world which really is topsy-turvy, the true is a moment of the false.”

The album deals with the band’s very serious concerns about the post-growth movement, which they implement on their organic farm. They reflect these farming principles in their approach to the music business – for example in their efforts to offset their carbon footprint. They are 100% self-funded and refuse to sign contracts with majors or hedge funds for their tours.
