Mongolian band The Hu received the coveted Impala Double Gold Award for selling more than 150,000 units of their debut album “The Gereg” (2019) within Europe. The award was presented by their label Better Noise Music before the show on September 13 at the sold-out Felsenkeller in Leipzig, which was attended by more than 1700 fans and guests. A camera team from ARD was also on site and reported on the concert in the Saturday edition of the daily tabloid magazine Brisant. The report is available here (from minute 19:25).
The Hu are currently on tour in Europe and are stopping off in the GSA region for five shows (Leipzig, Saarbrücken, Vienna, Zurich and Lausanne). They will be supported by their Better Noise Music label mates Solence. The tour started on September 4 in Helsinki and ends on September 26 in Madrid.
Afterwards, the band will continue on to the USA, where they will be supporting the heavy metal giants Iron Maiden on their “The Future Past Tour” from October to November. In addition, further headline shows will take place in parallel, where The Hu will again be supported by their BNM label mates The Funeral Portrait.
In June of this year, The Hu released their first live album “Live at Glastonbury”, which was recorded during their performance at the legendary festival in the UK in 2023. The current second studio album “Rumble Of Thunder Deluxe” was released last summer.
