The House of Blues in Dallas turned into a House of Fire with Yungblud – read our live report

Boy oh boy are the temperatures rising so much in Texas. And whose fault is that? Well, Yungblud, obviously! The British artist proved once again why he’s become one of alternative rock’s most electrifying live performers, delivering a career-spanning set that left the packed House of Blues Dallas crowd breathless on Saturday night. His 16-song performance was a masterclass in controlled chaos, blending raw emotion with theatrical flair that has become his trademark.

Sawyer Hill

But before we dive into Yungblud‘s performance, let us take a few words for the opening act. Rising alternative rock artist Sawyer Hill warmed up the diverse Dallas crowd with an engaging set that showcased his storytelling prowess and vocal range. What I liked about him is his authentic stage presence and relatable lyrics about small-town life and big dreams. I mean, who couldn’t relate to that? But even more than a great songwriter, Hill has the ability to hold the room’s attention, and that’s something that highlights his talent very well. We’d love to see more of this gentleman soon enough!

Yungblud

It was immediately apparent that this would not be your typical rock performance when Yungblud bounded onto the stage with “Hello Heaven, Hello.” He often engaged with the crowd and made direct eye contact with fans in the front rows, allowing for an almost uncomfortable, intense connection between the audience and himself. Yungblud‘s heart-wrenching rendition of Black Sabbath‘s “Changes,” was more than emotional. It was bold yet entirely reasonable—he perfectly captured the vulnerability in Ozzy’s original, and the band’s arrangement preserved the song’s melancholic beauty while introducing a modern edge.

Change” made its tour debut in Dallas, and the audience was super enthusiastic. Nobody can stand still while that man is on stage! Yungblud said that he definitely will be back in Texas because he loved playing in a sold-out and rocking venue. We can’t blame him! After that, the main set concluded with the explosive one-two punch of “braindead!” and “Loner,” leaving the crowd simultaneously exhausted and hungry for more. When Yungblud returned for the encore, the energy somehow ratcheted up even higher. “Ghosts” served as a powerful penultimate moment—part cathartic release, part group therapy session—before the night concluded with “Zombie.” The choice to end on this particular track felt both nostalgic and forward-looking, a perfect encapsulation of an artist who honours his influences while carving his own distinct path.
