“The Haunted had a major influence on us as a band and for me as a vocalist” – Avatar’s Johannes Eckerström tells his story as a metal vocalist

The Swedish heavy metal freak circus Avatar unleashed their ninth studio album “Dance Devil Dance” on Friday February 17th via Century Media Records.

“Dance Devil Dance” was recorded in the Swedish wilderness, far away from all the perceived glamor of the big city and modern studios. Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Mr. Bungle, Crobot, Stone Sour) returned as producer. He first worked with Avatar when he mixed “Hail The Apocalypse”, a role he reprised on “Feathers & Flesh” before taking the wheel as producer on “Avatar Country” and “Hunter Gatherer”.

Chaoszine sat down with Avatar‘s frontman Johannes Eckerström last week in Helsinki, Finland and discussed about his journey as a metal vocalist from the very early days until the release of “Dance Devil Dance”. You can check out the interesting interview below:
