Performing in Finland is dear to Steve’n’Seagulls, who have been touring the world for over a decade, but abroad, the limitless possibilities are alluring.
At the same time that the Finnish newgrass band Steve’n’Seagulls is touring Europe on their album release tour for T“he Dark Side Of The Moo”, the first dates of their next tour, “The Mooligans 2027”, are already appearing on the concert calendar. For the band, 2027 kicks off with a 23-day tour of the UK and France featuring the same number of shows. The tour will be announced on April 7, 2026.
We’ve been touring both places for nearly 10 years now, and it’s gratifying that things seem to be progressing year by year. The venue capacities are growing, and we’ll also be playing festival gigs in France and the UK. When we’re cramming 23 days straight with our energetic style, why not! Finland is a place dear to us and the audience is one of a kind, but abroad, the possibilities are almost limitless, says the band’s singer-guitarist Remmel.
English hospitality and French cuisine. That’s the perfect combination for a successful world conquest. It’s quite nice to spend February and March in places where every day is a gig day and the music culture is thriving, accordionist and multi-instrumentalist Hiltunen continues.
The band’s fifth album, titled “The Dark Side Of The Moo”, kicked off in late 2025 with a nearly sold-out tour covering France and Central Europe. In early 2026, Lokit will tour Finland and Sweden in a friendly rivalry spirit. In the summer, it’s time for European festivals, and the tour will wrap up after the summer with a tour covering Sweden, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. So there’s definitely a draw abroad.
Steve’n’Seagulls is a Finnish newgrass band that gained wider in the summer of 2014 through videos they uploaded to YouTube. To date, the band’s videos have been viewed over 366 million times on that platform alone. Since 2015, the band has toured around the world, performing on four continents and in over 35 countries. The band has released five albums, the second of which, “Brothers In Farms”, remains the only Finnish music album to have reached number one on Billboard’s Bluegrass chart.
