The Devil Wears Prada’s new album is finally done – three years in the making

The Devil Wears Prada has officially wrapped up work on their next album, but fans will have to wait just a bit longer—it’s not dropping until later this year. Guitarist and vocalist Jeremy DePoyster revealed in an interview with Cutter’s Rockcast that the record took three years to complete. The delay wasn’t due to procrastination, though—it was the result of balancing a packed touring schedule while taking the time to carefully craft the album.

The band has already teased what’s to come with singles like “Ritual” and “For You”, but there’s heavier material on the way too. According to the band, they just can’t seem to write happy music—even when life’s going great, the lyrics stay dark and emotionally intense.

Despite the music industry’s obsession with singles, The Devil Wears Prada remains fiercely loyal to the album format. Jeremy says that listening to a full record is still an essential part of the fan experience, and the band has no plans to change that approach.

Before the new album sees the light of day, the band will keep the momentum going on the road. This summer, they’re joining Killswitch Engage, Beartooth, and Parkway Drive on the Summer Of Loud tour.
