The Dead Daisies guitarist reveals throat cancer diagnosis

Author Benedetta Baldin - 26.9.2024

The former guitarist for Whitesnake and Dio, Doug Aldrich, has been diagnosed with cancer of the throat. The Dead Daisies, Aldrich’s current band, posted the news on social media. He performed with the glam rock group Lion in the 1980s and then had a short tour with Hurricane. He was brought in to replace Craig Goldy in Dio in 2002. He left to join Whitesnake a year later, and he stayed for over ten years. In addition to appearing on multiple live LPs, he contributed to two of Whitesnake‘s albums, “Good to Be Bad” (2008) and “Forevermore” (2011). Aldrich toured Europe with Glenn Hughes in 2015. He moved on to The Dead Daisies a year later and has been there ever since.

On behalf of the Chaoszine team, we wish Doug a speedy recovery!
