The Darkness, a British rock band, have happily revealed that their new single, “Mistletoe And Wine,” is currently available on Cooking Vinyl, as reported by blabbermouth.net. The cherished band arrives on this fifth day of Advent and opens the door to show a delectable new rendition of Cliff Richard’s Yuletide classic. Heavy strung-out riffs drive through as bells ring, a forceful rhythmic stomp explodes as Justin Hawkins’s passionate vocal delivery rings out, and synths dance to the identifiable melody as the cracker pops, all supported by lovely choir harmony.

Season’s greetings! Children, roasting on an open fire, their eyeballs all aglow, are weeping in awe of our latest seasonal offering. ‘Mistletoe and Wine’ represents a musical departure for The Darkness as we reimagine Richie Clifton’s timeless classic and add a few sprinkles of shoegaze and drone. Jack Frost staring at his toes? You will be too. In a good way.

The release marks the end of yet another successful year for The Darkness, whose eighth studio album, “Dreams On Toast,” shot to No. 2 in the UK Official Albums Chart in April. Since their legendary debut album “Permission To Land,” which was just declared the most successful British rock album of the twenty-first century, “Dreams On Toast” has become their most popular record. Along with their multi-platinum, award-winning catalogue, the rock legends’ latest hit album sold out shows across the nation, including their headline return to Wembley Arena. The tour continued throughout Europe, Australia, and the USA, where the new songs quickly became fan favorites.

In December 2026, The Darkness will embark on their biggest headline tour in twenty years, bringing their cherished rock to arenas all throughout the United Kingdom. The band’s first headline show at The O2 in London on December 16 will cap off the seven-date tour, which will start on December 8 at Glasgow OVO Hydro.
