British glam rockers The Darkness have announced the dates for their Permission to Land 20th Anniversary UK & Ireland Tour.
The Lowestoft-born band will tour throughout Ireland and the UK, kicking off in Belfast on December 2, with stops in Dublin, Norwich, London, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham, before concluding in Wolverhampton on December 16.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 9am here: thedarknesslive.com/tour-dates/
“Permission to Land” was released in 2003, and it immediately reached number two on the UK albums chart. The LP netted The Darkness multiple Brit Awards in 2004, including Best British Album, Best British Group, and Best British Rock Act.
The group will perform the album in full at each tour date, along with newer tracks and some old fan favourites.
“When Permission to Land landed, twenty short years ago, we were bathed in shock and awe,” said frontman Justin Hawkins. “As if by magic, Rock wasn’t dead! Fun wasn’t banned! And Spandex was almost acceptable again… Well, guess what? Twenty years on, the same rules apply.”
