The iconic The Cure has just released a new remix track from their upcoming album “Mixes Of A Lost World”, due out this June. This time, it’s Deftones frontman Chino Moreno stepping in to reimagine “Warsong”, and the result is a dark, dreamy soundscape where Moreno’s signature sonic style melts seamlessly into The Cure’s melancholic mood.
This isn’t the first time Moreno and Robert Smith have crossed creative paths. Back in 2023, Smith made a guest appearance on “Girls Float † Boys Cry”, a track by Moreno’s side project ††† (Crosses).
“Mixes Of A Lost World” is a rework of last year’s The Cure album “Songs Of A Lost World”. So far, the remix collection has featured Four Tet’s take on “Alone”, and a dancefloor-ready version of “I Can Never Say Goodbye” by Paul Oakenfold. In addition to Chino Moreno, the remix lineup includes names like Mura Masa, Mogwai, The Twilight Sad, Orbital, and Daniel Avery.
The full remix album “Mixes Of A Lost World” will be released on June 13th via Fiction Records.
