The Beatles biopic unveils cast and official release dates

Author Benedetta Baldin - 2.4.2025

In April 2028, Sam Mendes’s four Beatles biopics would debut one after the other over four weekends. The director of the James Bond movies Skyfall and Spectre, as well as the feature films American Beauty and Road to Perdition, told Beatles fans that there was still more to discover about Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon. Tom Rothman, the head of Sony Motion Pictures, called the action the first “bingeable moment in cinema.” The project has been given the working title “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event”, and each film will center on a different member of the Fab Four.

Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary. The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. In theaters April 2028. Official synopsis

It was originally announced that Barry Keoghan would play Starr, Paul Mescal would play McCartney, Joseph Quinn would represent Harrison, and Harris Dickinson would play Lennon. The first official cast photo is shown below. Mendes believed that a TV show was the incorrect format, and he didn’t realize his idea might succeed until the four-movie concept emerged.

There had to be a way to tell the epic story for a new generation. I can assure you there is still plenty left to explore, and I think we found a way to do that.
