The original ensemble Alice Cooper, not the solo performer, has revealed their first studio record in more than half a century. All four of the band’s current members—drummer Neal Smith, guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and singer Alice Cooper—will be featured on the July 25 release of “The Revenge of Alice Cooper”. The song “What Happened to You,” which was based on a riff from one of Glen Buxton’s old demo tapes, also features a special appearance by the late guitarist, who passed away in 1997. The album image and the whole track list is below. “Black Mamba,” the album’s lead song, will be played on Cooper‘s syndicated radio program “Alice’s Attic” today. Producing “The Revenge…” was veteran Cooper collaborator Bob Ezrin, who has often worked with Cooper as a solo artist and with the group on “Love It to Death” and “Killer” (1971), “School’s Out”, and “Billion Dollar Babies”.
It was very much like this was our next album after “Muscle of Love”. Isn’t that funny after 50 years? All of a sudden it just falls into place. On this album it was much more of a band, where each of us had a certain say. It wasn’t like my albums. I’m not gonna have a final say on it; I had one-fourth of the say on it, and that’s the way we always did it. Alice Cooper
