Interest in music memorabilia is reaching unprecedented levels, fueled by collectors who appreciate both the cultural significance of these instruments and the legacy of the artists behind them—often resulting in record-breaking sales. Our annual ‘Music Icons’ auction, featuring extraordinary guitars from Ace Frehley, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Kirk Hammett, underscores Julien’s ongoing commitment to bringing museum-quality pieces to market while shaping the global conversation around music collecting. – Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien’s Auctions.

Rock stars like Ace Frehley (Kiss), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Izzy Stradlin (Guns N’ Roses), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Mick Mars (Mötley Crüe), and Stevie Ray Vaughan have all played some of the most potent and influential guitars ever to be auctioned off. The touring “Music Icons” event also features a Zildjian gong played by Bill Ward of Black Sabbath. The highlight exhibition, which was revealed today at Hard Rock Cafe Piccadilly Circus, will be on display until April 13. On April 27, the day of the auction, it will travel to Japan and be shown at Hard Rock Cafe Tokyo.

The Hard Rock Cafe Times Square will host a stop on May 13 for more items, which will be available to the public until the live auction on May 29–30. Ace Frehley‘s 1975 Gibson Les Paul, one of the most important guitars in rock and roll history, is the focal point of the collection. This guitar, which is predicted to sell for between $400,000 and $600,000, has been Frehley‘s constant companion from the start of his career. More than any other guitar in his collection, it accompanied him on stage and in the studio with KISS. Frehley has been on almost every “Top 10 Les Paul Players Of All Time” list ever published thanks to his extensive use of this Gibson Les Paul.
