While founding member Acle Kahney was recording and writing with his band Mikaw Barish in 2003, TesseracT was born. Kahney also participated in Fellsilent, the unofficial forerunner of TesseracT. Early on in TesseracT‘s history, French singer Julien Perier provided vocals, but he was unable to become a permanent member due to practical challenges. TesseracT started performing live and gathering material for their debut album once their initial full lineup was confirmed. In 2007, they released a three-song demo that included portions of what would later become their debut album, “One”.
Daniel Tompkins took over as the band’s lead vocalist after Abisola Obasanya quit in 2009. Acle had met Tompkins while working with his former band, First Signs of Frost, on the creation of the album “Atlantic”. Together with Tompkins, the band revised the album’s songs in preparation for its 2010 release. TesseracT released “Concealing Fate”, a six-track suite that serves as the focal point of their debut album, “One”, on March 22, 2011, just prior to starting their first significant tour series. Later that year, TesseracT performed at the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth and toured the UK in support of “One”, opening alongside Chimp Spanner and Uneven Structure.
