Berlin got it’s festival season started last weekend, when Muse, IDLES and a big line-up of international artists blew the roof out of the Tempelhof Airport. The Tempelhof Sounds festival lasted three days and delivered music from pop and rap to dark synth sounds, indie rock and alternative rock legends such as Muse.
Festival was a great experience, and the weather was treating the audience very well. It was burning hot each day, and people got to enjoy music, friends, and other activities such as incredible food, beautiful surrounding areas, and Berlin nightlife after festival days.
Tempelhof Sounds was really easy to access and it was organised well. Some memorable acts of the festival were The Gardener and The Trees, Barns Courtney, Hinds, IDLES, Power Plush and Florence + The Machine.
Raising stars such as Barns Courtney, IDLES and The Gardener and the Trees were incredible with their energies. But the most positive surprises were young artists such as Hinds, My Ugly Clementing and Parcels – regardless of their early set time they really took the audience to a trip with them and rocked like there was no tomorrow! It takes such a talent to warm up people early in the day in a festival with that many artists.
The mix of different genres worked really well, and the festival had literally something for everyone – mosh-heads got to mosh, rap fans got their part, and many artists served quality indie rock and pop music for the people in attendance. The art city of Berlin totally needs more big music festivals like Tempelhof Festival. We are eagerly looking forward to what kind of a beast line-up next year will bring! Which artists would you be eager to see, and make the travel worth it?
