Detroit death-doom band Temple Of Void have released an official music video for “Godless Cynic”, a track from their fifth album “The Crawl”. The clip features live footage shot at two shows earlier this year.
The footage was captured at The Sanctuary in Detroit on April 10 and Reggies in Chicago on May 16. “Godless Cynic” originally appeared on “The Crawl”, which Relapse Records released in March 2026.
Meanwhile, Temple Of Void have also joined forces with Outer Heaven for a split release issued on October 16. The two-track record includes Temple Of Void‘s “Emperor’s Folly” and Outer Heaven‘s “The Burden Of Being”.
On the latter song, Outer Heaven are joined by members of Rivers Of Nihil. It also marks the band’s first recording with drummer Jake Wehn. The split is available through Temple Of Void’s official Bandcamp page, which includes the track credits and release details.
The new “Godless Cynic” music video can be viewed on YouTube.
Temple of Void is a death/doom metal ensemble originating from Detroit. Their musical style synthesizes the melancholic elements characteristic of early British doom metal with the vigor, intensity, and foundational, power-driven riffs emblematic of classic American death metal.
In May 2013, less than a year after their formation, they released a three-track demo entitled “MMXIII”. Subsequently, within a month, they secured distribution agreements with four international record labels.
Their debut album, “Of Terror and the Supernatural”, was released the following year and garnered widespread acclaim from both underground and mainstream metal publications, which facilitated opportunities for regional tours and performances at the annual Berserker Festival.
Following the release of the highly regarded “Lords of Death” in 2017, guitarist Don Durr succeeded founding member Eric Blanchard and embarked on a tour with the band for the first time.
In 2020, they unveiled “The World That Was”, which received favorable evaluations from prominent metal magazines and online platforms, ultimately leading to their signing with Relapse Records.
The band’s subsequent release, “Summoning the Slayer,” emerged in 2022.
