Detroit death doom band Temple of Void has released a new single titled “The Crawl”. The track serves as the title cut from the band’s upcoming full length album “The Crawl”, which is set to arrive later this spring.
With this new song, Temple of Void lean hard into their trademark mix of crushing death metal weight and slow burning doom atmosphere. At the same time, “The Crawl” feels direct and punishing, balancing suffocating riffs with a steady sense of forward motion. As a result, the track works both as a standalone statement and as a clear preview of what the new album aims to deliver.
“The Crawl” marks the band’s fifth studio album and follows 2020’s “The World That Was”. Since then, Temple of Void have continued to refine their sound, keeping it grim and physical while tightening their songwriting. Compared to earlier material, the new single sounds more focused, yet it still carries the band’s familiar sense of dread and decay.
According to the band, “The Crawl” was written to reflect themes of erosion, struggle, and the slow collapse of control. That mood comes through clearly in the song’s pacing and tone, which never rushes but never lets up either. Consequently, expectations are high for the full record.
“The Crawl” will be released on March 20, 2026 through Relapse Records, and the title track is available now across streaming platforms.
