Next year promises to be an exciting time for music fans, especially with the anticipation surrounding Megadeth‘s upcoming album, which will follow their 2022 release, “The Sick…The Dying…and the Dead!” There’s a growing consensus that new music from the legendary thrash metal band is on the way. Guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari has confirmed not only the album’s development but also that the band is making significant progress.
In a recent interview with Megadeth Digital, as reported by Blabbermouth, Mäntysaari shared insights about the ongoing songwriting process. He emphasized that despite working remotely, the collaboration is thriving.
“It feels really good at the moment. Yes, we’ve been working remotely. Dave [Mustaine, the band’s frontman] is in the studio in Nashville, while I’m working from home and now from a vacation spot with my family. I’m putting in a bit of work every day. Just today, I was developing some solo ideas and discussing them with Dave over the phone. We’re having daily Zoom meetings to exchange ideas, so there’s consistent progress, which is encouraging. I feel really positive about the album; we already have so many great concepts. I believe it’s going to be exceptional.”
Mäntysaari also reflected on the changes within the band since he joined, noting a more personal atmosphere.
“Getting to know the guys on a personal level has made things feel more instinctive on stage. You become more attuned to each other’s movements, reducing the need for overthinking during performances. From the very first show, everything felt relaxed. As I continue to bond with the guys, it just makes playing together even more enjoyable.”
