On the first day of The 80s Cruise, a nostalgia music cruise that included acts like Faster Pussycat, Warrant, Dokken, Firehouse, Squeeze, Adam Ant, Tiffany, and Men At Work, Taime Downe’s fiancée perished after drowning on the Royal Caribbean ship Explorer Of The Seas, according to TMZ. Around 11 p.m. on March 3, Kimberly Burch went overboard, prompting a multi-ship search and rescue effort. Kimberly’s mother claims that following a furious dispute with Downe on board the ship, she fell to her death. Carnell Burch told TMZ that Kimberly wouldn’t intentionally harm herself, though it’s still unknown if she jumped or fell from the ship by mistake. A representative for the U.S. Coast Guard told TMZ that the incident occurred about 20 miles off Freeport, Bahamas. Crew members quickly sent out a speedboat to look for the missing person after the ship’s captain alerted passengers to the problem over the public address system. The search was also aided by two adjacent vessels. The Hollywood Reporter was informed by an unnamed ship passenger that the incident happened late at night while Squeeze was performing.

There was an announcement over the PA saying someone went overboard so the ship was going to stop and turn around to try and locate the person.

The traveler also mentioned that the ship paused for several hours in order to conduct a search using floodlights and safety boats. The Explorer of the Seas eventually proceeded, reaching its next stop in Nassau, Bahamas, only a few hours later than planned. According to TMZ, Taime and Kimberly were together for perhaps six or seven years. We’d like to extend our condolences to Ms Burch’s family, friends and loved ones.
