Swedish doom collective Skogskult has released their new single “Turs”, the second preview from their upcoming self-titled debut, due 5 December 2025 via Bonebag Records. The track opens with poetic, myth-laden lines and unfolds with heavy fuzz, Swedish lyrics, and a strong sense of place.

Formed in Umeå in 2022, the band features members from the underground scene and draws inspiration from stoner doom greats like Sleep, Electric Wizard, and Monolord, while carving out their own identity. Their songwriting starts with instrumental jams that evolve into atmospheric journeys, later paired with lyrics adapted from original poems.

Choosing to write entirely in Swedish, the band emphasises that their language captures meanings that would be lost in translation. Themes of Nordic folklore, occult gatherings, and ritual imagery are deeply tied to their connection with nature. Working with producer Max Malmer (Aftermath, Cavern Deep) helped shape the sound into something both heavy and immersive.

Alongside the music, visuals play a key role. The video for “Turs”, created by drummer Alexander Söderlund, expands the band’s myth-heavy aesthetic into a vivid visual experience.
