Spiritbox is one of the most popular rising metal stars of the moment. The band just released their highly anticipated debut album “Eternal Blue”, which has already garnered praise from fans and the metal media.

Now the band’s lead singer Courtney LaPlante says in a recent interview with Metal Hammer that she had a mental breakdown during the recording of the album.

“I went to record it, and I had no confidence. I sounded so bad, and the guys had to pause my recording session. I had a frickin’ mental breakdown. They guys were like, ‘It’s OK Courtney, we can do this again tomorrow’, and I went into a closet in my room and cried and cried. The next day, magic happened. If I hadn’t had that breakdown the night before I wouldn’t have been able to perform the song like I did the next day.”
