Spirit Possession share “The Sharpening” from new album “Cathedral Speech”

Portland black metal duo Spirit Possession share “The Sharpening”, the second single from their third album “Cathedral Speech.” The track lands ahead of the full record, due October 2, 2026 through Profound Lore Records. Meanwhile, Sepulchral Voice Records handles the European release.

“Cathedral Speech” follows the 2023 full-length “Of the Sign…”. Spirit Possession feature S. Peacock on strings and vocals, alongside A. Spungin on drums and synthesizers. Peacock also plays in Black Curse, Ulthar, and Mastery, while Spungin records with Ormus.

The band tracked the album at the S•P Dungeon, then mixed it at The New Menegroth, The Thousand Caves. Luciana Lupe Vasconselos created the artwork.
