Spineshank singer Jonny Santos announced the band had finished their comeback song back in April of this year. But the trio hasn’t released the song yet, even though their reunion tour is now underway. That track was supposed to arrive in May or June, but as we all plod on into September, there has been no indication of it. In a recent conversation with Discoveringbands by Michael Nagy and as reported from theprp, those release plans appear to have undergone significant alteration. The current goal, according to drummer Tommy Decker, is for their first new song since 2012 to be released in 2026.

There’s some stuff [in the works]. There’s some stuff. It might be a little while [before it’s released]. We’ve gotta get this guy and this guy on it, so Tommy Junior and Hager, the new additions to the band. So we got a few songs. We’ll see what happens. [It will arrive] probably sometime next year.

There’s some news about how the songs will sound.

It’s more Spineshank. We like to have the heaviness. We like to have the melody. Everyone wants the electronics. So it’s just Spineshank 13 years later. It’s always gonna be heavy. It’s always gonna be a nice hook and there’s always gonna be electronics. So it’s who we are.

This year, Spineshank has been traveling to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their second album, “The Height Of Callousness.” They will continue to tour in the upcoming months.
