In the past, hundreds of years before history began. The Druids were an odd race of humans. Nobody is aware of their identity or activities. However, their legacy endures, carved into Stonehenge’s living granite. Thanks to the hilarious scene in the mock-documentary “This Is Spinal Tap” where Tap plays “Stonehenge” and their large Stonehenge set piece turns out to be 18 inches tall instead of 18 inches high, those words—the most exquisite and poetic ever written in the history of the English language—helped immortalize the fictional rock band Spinal Tap. The band Spinal Tap is now performing at Stonehenge for the first time in history. “Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale”, a movie based on the concert, will be released in theaters the following year. According to Screen Crush, Bleecker Street, the film’s distributor, revealed the project with a brief teaser. The concert movie comes after the 2025 follow-up “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues”, which followed the band’s former members as they got back together for a one-time performance decades after they split up. However, it appears that the one-off was not really that one-off.
he concert film follows legendary fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap (Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer reprising their iconic roles) as they put on a once-in-a-life-time concert marking the first-ever rock show filmed at Stonehenge, the historic English heritage site forever linked to Spinal Tap’s iconic song of the same name.
In 2026, “Spinal Tap: The Final Finale” will be shown in cinemas and IMAX.
The American comedians and musicians from The T.V. Show, who wrote and performed original songs as the band, formed Spinal Tap, a parody English heavy metal band. They are Michael McKean, who plays lead singer and guitarist David St. Hubbins; Christopher Guest, who plays guitarist Nigel Tufnel; and Harry Shearer, who plays bassist Derek Smalls. The phrase “one of England’s loudest bands” describes them.
