Rage Against The Machine‘s guitarist Tom Morello has continued to actively promote the music and history of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band, despite the fact that the band’s ongoing absence during these politically divided times still hurts some people. Zack de la Rocha, the band’s fiery vocalist, is still politically active but less noticeable these days, as per theprp. He reappeared last year to support a benefit shirt that helped the Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights generate money. Additionally, he appeared in the documentary “Intense Energy: The Sound Of Skateboarding.”
In his most recent endeavor, he is an executive producer on a brand-new documentary about the punk band Dead City Punx. The film, which was directed by Roger Gastman, follows the story of the infamous Los Angeles group of the same name, who are famed for putting on politically charged protest performances and getting into trouble with the local government for their spontaneous, boisterous live performances in unapproved locations. The Regent Theater in Los Angeles, California will host the premiere of that documentary on April 16. A trailer for it is available below.
In 1991, the American rock group Rage Against the Machine (often abbreviated as RATM or Rage) was founded in Los Angeles, California. It included guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk, bassist and backing vocalist Tim Commerford, and vocalist Zack de la Rocha. They combined anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, and revolutionary lyrics with elements of heavy metal, rap, punk rock, and funk. They had sold more than 16 million records globally as of 2010. In 2023, they were admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rage Against the Machine‘s self-titled first album was well received when it was released in 1992; Rolling Stone listed it as the 368th best album of all time in 2003. After performing at the 1993 Lollapalooza festival, they became commercially successful.
