Soen Hellsinki Metal Festival 2024

Soen release official music video for “Axis”

Author Benedetta Baldin - 13.4.2026

The music video for Soen‘s song “Axis” was just published, as per theprp. They collaborated with filmmaker Patric Ullaeus (Arch Enemy, Amorphis) on this most recent track from their seventh studio album, “Reliance.” Soen and Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity are currently co-headlining the “Scandinavian Heavy Arts Tour.” Persefone, an Andorran progressive death metal band, has been opening that journey.

‘Axis‘ is about the moment when you start to notice that the roles you’re given don’t really belong to you. It’s about stepping beyond that distance we learn to live with, and remembering there’s something stronger underneath it. The fire is already there. The question is if we’re willing to stand closer and follow it together. – Joel Ekelöf

It’s a straight-up metal anthem for those of us who refuse to pretend that the people in power actually have our best interests at heart. A musical “fuck-you” to all of them. – Martin Lopez

The video keeps it as simple as it should be. Just us going hard, playing a song we love. It’s a rehearsal captured through the lens of the incredible Patric Ullaeus, and it feels exactly right for a track like ‘Axis.’ – Lars Åhlund
