Philadelphia sludge-metal veterans Sunburster, active for over a decade, are finally releasing their first full-length album titled “No Semblance Of Peaceful Existence” on October 24th via Knife Hits Records. Ahead of the album launch, the band has premiered its opening track, “Jinn,” delivering the slow, oppressive riffs and low-end heaviness fans have come to expect.

“Jinn” starts with a brief sample before plunging into chug-heavy guitars and a deep, gravelly growl from vocalist Mike Murro—an unmistakably gritty performance that channels weariness and raw intensity. Murro has described the track as a deeper immersion into Sunburster’s signature sludge swamp, exploring themes of stagnation, inner demons, and inescapable hopelessness—with the added sting of confronting those feelings with age and bitter resignation.

Although details beyond “Jinn” remain limited, fans can now stream the track and head over to Bandcamp for information on pre-orders, vinyl editions, and the dark atmospherics the band delivers best.
