The legendary Roadrunner Records has been the home of many great metal acts, one of them being Slipknot. Having released all of their seven albums via the label, it has served as a long-time home for the masked band.

But now it seems that an era is coming to an end. According to Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan, the band will be leaving their long-time label.

In an interview back in June, Crahan said this:

“There’s a lot of things going on. One, we’re getting off our label [after the release of new LP]. And I feel free. It’s got nothing to do with what’s next. It’s just got to do with, ‘Get the hell away from me.’”

In a brand new Forbes interview this was elaborated on. When asked, if the upcoming new Slipknot record would be their last on the label, Crahan answered:

“Yes sir, seven albums, no ‘Greatest Hits,’ no ‘Best Of,’ no live albums, straight-up rock ‘n’ roll. That’s what we’ve given.”

Slipknot’s latest album “We Are Not Your Kind” was released in 2019.
