Sleep Token‘s fourth studio album, “Even In Arcadia,” became their first album to debut at the top of the Billboard 200. With that record, the masked British alternative metal band launched at the top of both the UK and Australian charts, completing a trifecta of #1 debuts. “Even In Arcadia” is group’s first album to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 and it notched up a stunning 127,000 album-equivalent units during its first week of release in the United States. According to Billboard, the album has become the most streamed week for a hard rock album in the United States, and the band’s streaming figures have broken previous records. Album sales accounted for 73,500 units, while vinyl sales accounted for 47,000. Additionally, since sales were first recorded in 1991, it is the biggest vinyl sales week for a hard rock band. It’s interesting to note that Sleep Token eclipsed a vinyl sales record established just two weeks ago when 44,000 copies of Ghost‘s “Skeletá” were sold. Approximately 68.89 million streams of the album’s songs amounted to 53,000 streaming-equivalent units of “Even In Arcadia.” Thrash metal champions Metallica‘s 2023 album “72 Seasons” was the last hard rock album to debut higher than Sleep Token. Sleep Token‘s 2023 breakthrough album, “Take Me Back To Eden,” peaked at #16 on the Billboard 200 and sold 16,000 copies in its first week, launching their explosive ascent.
