In the US, Sleep Token has received its first platinum accreditation, as per theprp. When their most recent album, “Even In Arcadia,” debuted at number one in the US last May, the masked British alternative metal stars succeeded in creating chart history. Although the record went on to receive a gold certification in the United States this past January, neither it nor any of its singles were the first to achieve this level of success in the previously mentioned region. Rather, their most recent streaming/sales performance award comes from “The Summoning,” the breakout second single from their third studio album, “Take Me Back To Eden,” released in 2023. In December of 2024, that song also earned them their first gold certification in the US.
As of April 10th, that track has been certified platinum by the RIAA, which is the band’s first time receiving such a high certification in the US. In the US, a platinum album or single is worth 1,000,000 copies, whereas a gold record is worth 500,000 copies. The certifications take into account digital streams and downloads in addition to traditional physical and digital sales, with 1500 on-demand audio and video streaming from a specific album qualifying as a unit and 10 permanent track downloads counting as a unit. A track-equivalent unit is also equivalent to 150 streams of a song.
