Slayer unveil new shows in the UK and reveal possible setlist for their show with Black Sabbath

As part of their ongoing reunion efforts, Slayer will go to the UK this year for three concerts, including two recently announced headlining shows. The thrash metal superstars will continue their comeback this year with a number of restricted live appearances; the most recent ones are scheduled for July in London and Cardiff. Amon Amarth, Anthrax, Mastodon, Hatebreed, and Neckbreakker will open for both of those shows.

The band will play a version of a Sabbath song for anyone fortunate enough to attend the impending farewell party for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. You might remember that Slayer covered Black Sabbath‘s “Hand Of Doom” on the Sabbath tribute album “Nativity In Black II” from 2000. Kerry King, Slayer‘s guitarist, claims that the legendary band has already started practicing their unnamed cover. Slayer is part of the formidable list that has been announced for the event. King suggested in an interview with Spin that if Slayer hadn’t already made a comeback to the stage the previous year, he would have pushed for the group to do so for the metal veterans’ final gig.

I probably would have done that if that was the only show that I did. That’s an important day. I think that’s going to be a huge moment for the fans, but it’s going to be a huge moment for me. It’s a huge moment in rock history.

King also mentioned that he won’t stop with his solo project either.

This time I’m super-focused. I’m not a kid and I can’t have five-year gaps between records. We talk about it all the time. As soon as cycle one is over, get into the studio—take your tour momentum, take your tour chops, and go in and bust out the next one.
