Slaughter To Prevail’s show in Sweden might get cancelled

Author Benedetta Baldin - 30.1.2026

There are requests for the cancellation of Russian deathcore band Slaughter To Prevail‘s performance in Stockholm, Sweden today, January 30, as per theprp. Citing the band’s close ties to Russia, the Nordic Ukraine Forum made the demand. The band and their vocalist Alex Terrible are selling a variety of retail products, including the Russian coat of arms and other stuff, according to SVT. Additionally, the publication claims that Terrible has worn items from a Russian apparel company whose owner has received a medal for actively supporting Russia’s ongoing military activities in Ukraine. The article also mentioned Terrible’s connections to Russian bare-knuckle fighting leagues, his mask-making company in Russia, and other things.

Terrible has already denounced the conflict in Ukraine, despite the controversy surrounding his frequent onstage displays of his love for Russia. He described himself as a “man of peace” and talked about his pride in his native country in March. Christofer Fjellner, a Swedish politician and city councilor, expressed his disapproval of the band’s permission to play in Stockholm, claiming that they are engaged in the dissemination of Russian propaganda. Live Nation, who are advertising the performance, has also come under fire. Karin Wanngård, the mayor of Stockholm, expressed her personal worries to SVT.

The city’s premises are not a place to spread anti-democratic messages. It is the organizer’s responsibility to ensure that democratic conditions are followed and the city has a dialogue with the organizer to ensure that this also happens during the event in question.
