Visionary British prog-metal legends Sikth have released a live performance of ‘Bland Street Bloom’, the opening track of their seminal “Death Of A Dead Day” album.
Recorded at Marshall Studios, and engineered by Adam Beer and Dan Weller, with film captured and directed by Ali White of Earth House, the session sees the six original members of Sikth in a live studio setting for the first time since their BBC Maida Vale session back in 2006.
“There’s hasn’t been a live studio recording captured in nearly 20 years, so we figured it was time,” says guitarist Dan Weller. “Being in a room together with the original lineup was special. We have the fire back. There’s definitely unfinished business to be done next year.”
Check it out here from 6pm GMT Friday 28th November:
The band play two exclusive anniversary shows in February 2026 at Manchester’s Academy 2 and London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town, performing the iconic record in its entirety to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of ‘Death Of A Dead Day’. Support will come from rising Birmingham metalcore quartet Heriot, and the recently reformed London Drum’N’Bass Metal Mob Ted Maul.
Originally released on 6th June 2006 (06/06/06) and featuring a horde of fan favourite tracks including ‘Bland Street Bloom‘, ‘Flogging The Horses‘ and ‘Sanguine Seas Of Bigotry‘, “Death Of A Dead Day” established the band as one of the most forward thinking, progressive and boundary breaking artists in heavy music. Revisiting the album will show that the same is true today, the music as vital and important as it always has been and continuing to grab the attention of artists and fans alike. For fans of the band, regardless of whether you discovered them two decades ago or today, these shows are unmissable.
