Today we might get to see the announcement of the 2026 lineup for the yearly “Sick New World” festival, as theprpr reports. The announcement comes after months of speculation, with new ads revealing that two cities will host the comeback next year. The festival will make its first-ever appearance in Fort Worth, Texas on October 24th, in addition to returning to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 25th. A fresh teaser issued by the event on October 20, suggests that there are three distinct artist bookings involved. That footage has music from bands like System Of A Down, the anticipated headliners, Korn, a pioneering nu metal group, and Deftones, a favorite band in alternative metal.

The management of Velvet Hammer, whose founder David “Beno” Benveniste is also a co-creator of the “Sick New World” event, represents all three of those acts. But rumors are quite certain that bands from a variety of heavy metal genres would be featured on the lineup, so it won’t just be devoted to late 90s and early aughts nostalgia. In the meantime, this nostalgic art installation, which showcased some late 90s and early 00s ephemera along with CDs and artwork from select artists, was part of this past weekend’s “When We Were Young” festival at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. In addition to the three bands described above, the teaser also contained Bring Me The Horizon and what appears to be a reference to Gojira.

So if you’re excited and you just can’t hide it, well, welcome to the club. Fans have already started going out of control in the comments, section, some even saying that “…those three bands could headline every year and I would absolutely go every year” and “We are so back“. Well, us too, kid. Us too.
