Metal legend Ozzy Osbourne‘s battle with Parkinson’s Disease has reached a critical point, with his wife Sharon revealing heartbreaking news about his current condition. In a candid interview with The Sun, she shared that while the Prince of Darkness can no longer walk, his iconic voice remains remarkably strong as he prepares for his farewell performance.
Speaking on Sirius XM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard on February 5th, Ozzy reflected on his situation with characteristic resilience: “I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive. I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”
The historic farewell show, dubbed “Back to the Beginning,” is set for July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham. The event will feature both a solo Ozzy performance and a reunion with the original Black Sabbath lineup. Sharon has confirmed in multiple interviews that this will mark Ozzy’s final stage appearance, describing it as his “full stop” in the music industry.
The star-studded lineup includes metal titans Metallica and Slayer, alongside contemporary powerhouses like Gojira and Mastodon. Special guest appearances will feature an impressive roster of rock legends, from Slash and Sammy Hagar to modern stars like Sleep Token’s II and Wolfgang Van Halen.
All proceeds from the event will support three charitable causes: Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice. Tickets release on February 14th at 10am GMT.
