Senses make a triumphant return with first new single in a year “Patterns”

Author Benedetta Baldin - 28.10.2026

They’re back! Hopeless Records duo Senses unveiled their first new single in over a year. “patterns” arrived Oct. 27, and is a punchy alt pop track for the ages. True to form – Senses have cooked up an earworm that is undeniably catchy and a shimmering display of the band’s growth as writers and performers. The band is currently debuting the song live on the road in the UK opening up for Noahfinnce. Listen here and grab tickets to catch the band live here.

Senses shares of the track:

“Patterns” is very much a song of self-awareness and discovery.  It explores the process of understanding how your brain works – and knowing that it can often feel all over the place and hard to control.   This feeling is really emphasized by the dramatic sonic changes throughout, taking you through the experience of feeling stuck in these pre-existing patterns, and how it feels to try to break free of them.  We’ve struggled and felt overwhelmed with breaking this cycle many times in our own lives, and it’s definitely not easy to overcome.  This song is that real-time awareness of the inner workings of your brain, and the process of overcoming these obstacles.

ABOUT SENSES:

senses is a Los Angeles-based self-identifying “emo-friendly, punk-curious” band known for their explosive energy and soul-baring truth.  Their music channels pain and frustration into catchy anthems that resonate with fans and has catapulted them into a packed first headline tour and multiple tours as support with artists like Charlotte Sands, The Summer Set (UK & US), Yours Truly (AUS), Carlie Hanson, Leah Kate, Bailey Spinn, and Boys Like Girls. Recently signed to Hopeless Records in 2024, the band, led by Madison Taylor (vocals/guitar) and Nick Sampson (drums), has seen their fanbase grow rapidly, thanks in part to their emotionally charged live shows and viral live videos.

Formed in 2019 after Taylor and Sampson connected via Craigslist, senses quickly made a name for themselves with their raw and unruly sound. Despite any setbacks, they continued to create, leading to their breakthrough debut EP, “take me out of here” (2023). The EP, produced by Keith Varon, features hard-hitting singles like “sleepwalking”, “gonna make sure” and “novocain”, and earned the band radio play and spots on major editorial playlists.  In March 2025, the band released their celebrated second EP, “i’m still breathing”, with crowd favorites including “diamonds on your dagger”, “every little thing” and “nosebleeds.”  Keeping their feet on the gas, the band recently released their third EP onto something in October 2025, which includes pop-rock anthems “onto something”, “tiptoeing”, and “skin”.

Through their music and a history of electrifying live performances, senses have built a close-knit community with their fans. The band is now working on new music, driven by their passion for creating an inclusive space where everyone can connect and find solace in their songs.
