Finnish post-metal newcomers Sees premiere their lead single, “Tähden varjo,” the opening taste of their debut studio album “Suoja.” The record drops November 20 via Agonia Records, and the new track arrives with an official lyric video.
According to the band, “Tähden varjo” stands as the most progressive and exploratory moment on the album. It shifts through distinct, cinematic sections, and then moves beyond a heavy core into wider sonic territory. Meanwhile, the band describes it as an epic that explores a worldview built blindly on belief alone.
The album title “Suoja” translates to “shelter.” Sees founded the band in 2024, and its members bring years of experience from Finnish alternative acts including Surut, Junktone, Skein, Vala, and Pofony. Their native language, scream-led music builds around the dynamics of aggressive heaviness and atmospheric soundscaping.
Producer Tuomas Kokko (Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus), recorded and refined “Suoja” over an extended period.
