Ben Weasel (vocals), Gianluca “Ginger” Panero (guitar), Mike Hunchback (guitar), Zach “Poutine” Brandner (bass), and Pierre Marche (drums) make up the American punk rock group Screeching Weasel, which was created in 1986 by Ben Weasel and John Jughead. Screeching Weasel was born in Prospect Heights, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. Screeching Weasel has had multiple lineup changes since their founding. Up until 2009, Jughead was a part of every iteration of the band, but Ben Weasel has been the sole consistent member. Other notable members include Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt, who participated on one of the group’s studio albums, and guitarist/bassist Dan Vapid and drummer Dan Panic, who have each appeared on six.
Screeching Weasel has worked with several well-known indie record labels, including Lookout! Records and Fat Wreck Chords, while recording 14 studio albums to date. Many generally well-known acts credit them as influential even though they never achieved mainstream success.
