The first image of Ace Frehley‘s last resting place at Bronx, New York’s Woodlawn Cemetery has been released by TMZ, as reported by blabbermouth.net. “PAUL ‘ACE’ FREHLEY, 1951–2025” is inscribed on the polished stone crypt, referring to the real name and birth and death years of the original KISS guitarist. John Ostrosky, Ace’s longtime manager, told the New York Post a little more than a month ago that the late KISS icon was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery. After a private tribute on October 21 at the Sinatra tribute Home in Yonkers, New York, the 74-year-old musician was laid to rest on October 22.
We would like to thank Frank Sinatra Jr., Joseph Vivona and the entire staff at Sinatra Memorial Home, as well as Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, Police Commissioner Christopher Sapienza, Chief Richard Alaimo, as well as the supervisors, officers, and especially the Traffic Division for a safe escort to Woodlawn. Ace would have loved that! – John Ostrosky to the New York Post.
About 75 individuals, “mostly musicians who had played with Ace [or] recorded with him,” attended the private service on October 21 in Yonkers, where Frehley resided in the 1980s, according to Tampa Bay Music News. Frehley, whose true name was Paul Daniel Frehley, passed away on October 16 from severe trauma injuries sustained in a fall. In a report that TMZ was able to get, the Morris County Medical Examiner disclosed the cause of death. Ace‘s death was determined to be an accident. His age was seventy-four.
A CT scan of Frehley‘s head showed several contusions, bone fractures to the back of his skull, hemorrhages, and a subdural hematoma (the kind of bleeding that happens in a person’s brain following a head injury), according to the report. The musician’s hip, thigh, and abdomen all had more bruises. Frehley’s stroke was also included in the report. Frehley was put on life support after suffering a brain bleed following a second fall at home, and he passed away almost two weeks later. The tragic choice to remove the musician from the ventilator was made by his family.
