Nothing makes us sadder than giving news of bands disbanding, breaking up or splitting, but such is our burden. With a heavy heart, the legendary Norwegian black/thrash metal band Sarke has opted to end their existence on their own terms after almost two decades and eight albums, claiming that their “incredible journey” has come to an end. The band made the announcement on social media and thanked their fans, supporters, and anybody else who helped them develop from founding bassist Sarke’s solo endeavour into a full-fledged band that allowed some of the biggest names in the genre to contribute, such as Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone, former Enslaved drummer Cato Bekkevold, and Steinar Gundersen of Khold.
